Qingdao Furuixiang Plastic Technology Co., LTD. Spunbond Nonwoven Fabric: The mainstream molded category in nonwoven fabrics!
Spunbond Nonwoven Fabric is a nonwoven fabric made through the spunbond process. It uses thermoplastic polymers (such as polypropylene, polyester, polyethylene, etc.) as raw materials and undergoes continuous processes such as melt spinning, air flow drawing, fiber web laying, and thermal bonding and shaping, directly converting the polymers into sheet fiber materials. Its production feature of not requiring spinning and weaving endows the product with high manufacturing efficiency and stable structural performance. It is one of the mainstream categories with large output and wide application in the non-woven fabric industry, and is widely used in both consumer goods and industrial production fields.
From the perspective of production process, the manufacturing of Spunbond Nonwoven Fabric presents the characteristic of "integrated and continuous". Firstly, after the polymer chips undergo drying treatment (to remove moisture and prevent bubble formation during spinning), they are sent into a screw extruder and melted into a uniform melt at a specific temperature (typically 200-300℃ depending on the raw material). Subsequently, the melt is extruded through the spinneret in the spinning box (with micro-pore diameters typically ranging from 0.2 to 0.6mm) to form continuous filaments. After the filament is extruded, it is immediately stretched by a high-speed airflow (with a speed of up to several kilometers per minute) to refine the filament and obtain a certain degree of orientation. The refined filaments are evenly spread on the moving net curtain, forming a fluffy fiber web. Finally, the fiber web is subjected to the hot pressing effect of a hot rolling mill (with a temperature slightly lower than the melting point of the polymer), where the surface of the fibers partially melts and bonds, forming a spunbond nonwoven fabric with certain strength and density. After winding and slitting, the finished product is obtained.
In terms of core performance, the advantages of spunbond nonwoven fabric stem from the synergy of the process and raw materials. Firstly, the structure is stable, with fibers distributed in a continuous orientation. The product has high breaking strength and tear strength, and the performance difference in the longitudinal and transverse directions is small, capable of withstanding certain tensile and impact forces. Secondly, it has good air permeability. The fiber web retains a certain pore structure, allowing air to flow smoothly. At the same time, it has a certain barrier property, which can block some particles and impurities. Thirdly, it has strong processing adaptability. By adjusting parameters such as the spinneret specifications, drawing speed, and hot rolling temperature, products of different thicknesses (typically 10-200g/㎡) and densities can be produced. Additionally, through post-processing such as printing, coating, and lamination, additional functions like waterproofing, anti-static, and antibacterial properties can be endowed. Fourthly, most spunbond nonwoven fabrics (such as polypropylene spunbond fabric) also have the characteristics of light density, chemical corrosion resistance, and low moisture absorption, making them suitable for a wide range of application scenarios.
In terms of application scenarios, spunbond nonwoven fabrics cover diverse demands. In the field of daily consumption, it can be used to make the surface layer of disposable hygiene products, shopping bags, inner linings of packaging, etc., taking advantage of its light weight and easy processing characteristics. In the field of medical protection, it is applicable to the outer layer of ordinary protective masks, isolation gowns, surgical sheets, etc., relying on its barrier and breathable properties. In the industrial field, it can be used as a filter material, automotive interior lining fabric, geotextile base material, etc., to leverage its advantages in strength and weather resistance. In the agricultural field, it can also be used to make seedling cloth and crop covering cloth. With its breathability and anti-aging properties, it helps crops grow.
With the market's upgrading demands for material quality and functionality, spunbond nonwoven fabric technology is also continuously being optimized. By developing ultra-fine fiber spunbonding processes to enhance the fineness and barrier properties of products, introducing recycled polymer raw materials to strengthen environmental protection attributes, and exploring multi-raw material composite spunbonding technologies (such as polypropylene - polyester composites), the performance boundaries of products are further expanded, providing technical support for the high-quality development of the nonwoven fabric industry.
